Hello. I found a Hoover Sovereign vacuum and couldn't find any for sale online. I just thru it out there for $600 or best offer and within a couple days someone is already offering to purchase for full asking price. I was expecting to just get offers of around a couple hundred dollars.

I wanted to check that this isn't worth a lot more to the right collector. After a bit of research it appears this model was only produced for 1 year in 1984 and didn't sell well at all.

Are you in the USA or EU? If in the USA, this is a British machine and it was never sold here. It hopefully still is on 220v and its original motor. It would be pretty special finding one of these in the wild just randomly here in the States.

I can;t say if it's worth $600, I believe in vacuums being affordable and enjoyable and not something to price people out of the hobby - but I guess model trains are no different to this aspect either. lol

I always heard of the general rule for sellers - never accept your first offer. Hopefully someone will come along and give you some more detailed info on what you found.

This reminds me a lot to our Hoover Elite Legacy vacuums.

British Hoover

I have had 1 same as above except it was all white for US.Could this have been same time as British Innovation was at vac stores & Sears?Sears models had exclusive tool rack & cordwinder.Standard Innovation was later seen on close out at Big Lots.

Actually, they were sold here for a short period of time. I almost wound up with one similar to this and turned it down when another collector who felt he had a sense of entitlement threw a fit about me getting it.

In this economy…

Take the money and run.
They’ll never see the money in return.

Also, we all know each other, so don’t shoot yourself in the foot. That’s a lot of money for some 1980s plastic.

Hoover Sovereign

Yes, I know I paid a lot for this cleaner, but to me, it’s well worth it, I’ve personally been after one since I know their existence. My late grandmother owned one when I was a child, as in- it lasted until 2005. But, my grandfather pitched it, as someone said(sorry, I don’t know how to tag you as I rarely post on here) I won’t be making my money back, and I’m okay with that. I’m just grateful to be reunited with a piece from my childhood.

So it was sold directly in the USA without removing the "Her Majesty The Queen" script? How come? I can imagine that would be really confusing if you seen this in the store.
