Hoover S3865 Cyclonic Canister Question

[COLOR=#000080; font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif]On my Hoover S3865 Platinum Cyclonic Canister, the dirt cup has become incredibly dirty inside, and I was wondering if there was any way to clean it out and make it nice and clear again and if so, are there any special steps that need to be taken. I empty it after every use and continue to be amazed at the fine, deep down, grit it is pulling out of my medium pile carpet time after time. I must say, those who haven't given TTI a chance ought to take a second look, they actually do have some very nice machines. Mom has a WindTunnel 3 High Performance and loves it. [/COLOR]

I have the same machine. You can clean it. Hold the dirt bin in your hand, and twist the handle to unlock it. There are several screws (clearly pointed out) that allow you to remove the upper cyclone assembly for total cleaning. Be sure that everything is completely dry before reassembly.
