I wonder if the Platinum would work better on the shag carpet if you set the power to "low".....maybe that would reduce the suction enough to just let the brush roll do its thing and make the vac easier to move.
I really like the bag collar holder on this vac! That's one of the downsides of a lot of the Hoover WindTunnels - it's really difficult to make sure you have secured the bag collar because you are working blindly behind the disposable bag. With the Platinum, it helps you secure the bag easily.
