I remember reading a little on a previous thread about the new Hoover Platinum series and am curious if anyone has tried or bought the "lightweight" bagged version. For some reason I'm very fascinated with it right now but can't justify the $399 price tag -- even with the portable that comes with it. Just curious if anyone has tried it and what the general consensus is on it. Thanks!

Well...

I think it is way overpriced also for just a Hoover. But one of my friends said it was an amazing vacuum. But this is coming from a person who loves Orecks. But they did say it was quite nice. The issues for me is the price, and you cannot buy bags everywhere. And I am sure they only sell the super expensive ones.

i heard it was great on carpets....low..plush you name it.great suction, kinda loud ... scatters on bare floors. bags not sure but i think they said the [royal b/ riccar rsl] at that price i dont think so but i am pretty taken by it..looks tough..id buy it without a motor on ebay..i like the look.

I bought one of these in February and have no complaints. It has awesome Suction Power; everything is picked up in the first sweep including pet hair with no problem. I do not find this vacuum to be loud. I have even vacuumed with this then ran the wind tunnel self-propelled to how much dirt was left behind and found that nothing is left behind. Also love the portable canister that comes with this vacuum, I wish Hoover/TTI would go back to the old style of attachments from the late seventy and mid eighties. The tools on the canister are not the greatest and are very cheap looking.

Thanks ROb

Thanks for the information Rob! I do have two large dogs, so pet hair is a constant problem at my house. I'm still looking for one of these at an affordable rate but feel more confident with a club member's approval.
