Actually, maybe oddly, yes
There was a burner between my property and my next door neighbor. It was just recently removed and taken to the scrap yard.A lot of people had them around here. People, (not I), loved to smell burning leaves in the Fall.
The house to my left was built by a coal mine rep. There still is a rather large stone incinerator with a cast iron access door at the end of the property. Of course, it's no longer used, but it was fascinating to see as a child. When the new owners moved in about 12 yrs ago, they didn't know much about it. They were intrigued.
Now, there is a "burn ban" in my town. Not a fan of fire here.
