Please see my first two posts regarding the saga with this Model 707. In short, the motor buzzes, but does not turn. I've gotten several suggestions (i.e., carbon brushes, bearings, whole new motor, etc.).

The brushes are about 1/2-inch long; shorter than they should be, but not worn to a nub.

I did some continuity testing on the armature. I got some inconsistent readings between some of the sections that leads me to believe there may be a short there.

I had previously already looked online for a completely new motor and found that none were available. Assuming it IS the armature, is that part available?

Also, can anyone offer advice on how to replace it? The thing seems secured in some manner that I can't see.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Your best bet is to go to a vac shop and see what they still have in stock new or used. Nothing is avaliable for these anymore. Many of us have perfectly good used motors avaliable if you can't find any. Good luck and email me [email protected] if you need further assistance
