No problem. If you do get it, show me a picture of the rating sticker on Facebook and I can date it for you.

Will this clean better than a TP1? I mean, it's dirty air and has a metal beaterbar doesn't it? The TP has that but with a plastic agitator

I don't know, as Iv'e never compared the two together (reason being iv'e never thought to and I don't use my Junior much anyway.) To be honest ill'd say the Turbopower would clean better. Better suction etc.

Yep, all Juniors are dirty fan (I prefer saying fan, call it what you want doesn't bother me) same as the Turbopower ones. The Turbopower ones have a 7 bladed plastic fan and the Juniors have a 7 bladed metal fan. Although some models do have a plastic fan (not sure what models)

The Juniors have a 250 watt motor while some have a 300 watt motor which is slightly different in pitch a bit hard to explain.

The Juniors have two metal beater bars and two replaceable brush strips and take H1 bags. The 300 watt models have flat belts (anyone reading feel free to correct me) while the others have a rounded belt.

The Turbopowers have a plastic brushroll with non replaceable bristles and have "pads" which beat out in bedded grit (see what I did there ;) ) The Turbopower ones also take H4 bags.

When Iv'e sorted out the carbon brushes in my Junior ill do a comparison video if you would like (not sure when it'll be though)

I'll also send pictures of the fans, brushrolls etc via Facebook soon. If you can get this one (or any junior) I suggest you do, you'll love it. They do have a short cord though and short handle (for me)

Also nearly forgot to add ~ The Turbopowers have different wattage motors (depending on model) For example - the U1100 has a 400 watt motor, the U2332 has a 410 watt motor and the U2716,U2718,U2602 and so forth have a 575 watt motor. Some models have a 600 watt motor (can't remember the model numbers though) anyway ~

Hope this helped.

It looks like a Hoover Junior U1104 and with original bag. It would have a 300 or 350 watt motor. This is the last of the classic design before Hoover rebadged Sprite uprights with the Junior name as well as turbopower 1 bagged uprights.

The metal based bodies have 250 watt motors with metal fans but not the plastic U1104 which has a plastic fan. Also uses flat belt compared to rubber belt, but would still use the rubber belt inside to fasten the bag to the top fill dirt channel inside the soft bag - the older metal based Juniors have bottom fill tubes apart from the U1012 model.

Look at the archive link for a Junior U1104 on here.

Emma: Thanks! Really appreciate that and the info you provided me with aswell :D I do like how the Hoover is energy saving etc. Do you think this would be a top fill or bottom fill bag type? Sorry to be annoying you with all these questions :|
Narayan: Sounds good! :) Thanks, I'm not sure what this hoover on Gumtree is, as in the model number etc I am a noob when it comes to vintage vacs, lol.

I am TELLING you that it is a Hoover Junior U1104. They all have top fill tubes inside which means it will fill the bag better without it clogging. I did own FIVE OF THEM, Parwaz, before I got into SEBO as well as the Hoover Senior and Hoover Powerplus.

Here's the blockier U1012 from the previous model design; made from a mix of plastics and metal. Distinguished by its straighter outer cloth dust bag (and thus the bag inside doesn't sag due to being top fill) and orange colour to the U1012. The one from Gumtree is the more modern Hoover Junior - and it may well be fitted with the Hoover activator, similar to what the Hoover Turbopower1 had.

I actually like the U1012 better as it is more durable than the plastic U1104. But I love both styles.

It's not a U1104 - it's the earlier version. U1036. Also about the comment on it having "some weight too it" - that's nonsense. The Junior is one of the lightest uprights made.
