Ok. Here it is. The complete set of scans from "How to Judge an Electric Cleaner", an Hoover promotional booklet from around 1927(although no actual date is given). According to my scaner, the actual size of this booklet is about 4.4X5.9 inches.

The Cover:

Pages 23 and 24 - The Prices and Model Line Including The Rare 961 and the Special Models and Low Voltage Options on Second Page

Thanks!

I've waited so long for the chance to see inside one of those 'On Judging an Electric Cleaner' booklets - this looks like it's one of the earliest too, I've seen reprinted editions updated for each new model range, with black covers, featuring the bag design used by the models on sale.

Thanks again for taking the time to scan that for us!

By the way, would you mind if I used the picture of the 961 on my website? No one else has been able to provide me with a picture so far. Someone (I forget who!) said they'd try and get one of Stan Kann's 961, but nothing ever materialised...

I'll actualy send you an higher resolution image of the 961. All images on this page are only 65% of the size the scaner produced. It will be arriving in your email later today.

I'm glad you appreciate the booklet. I knew I bought it for a reason. If I remember correctly it was one of my Ebay Hoover steals. I might have some more images that may be of use to you, like the Hoover 543/700 floor waxer from my 543 manual. Just let me know if you want to see and use those too.

Thanks in advance for the high-res scan! I'll put it on my site when it arrives!

I've actually seen pictures of the floor polisher in my 700 manual - I've also got someone in the US who's sending me a 543 manual soon, too. Thanks for the offer though! If you have anything else of interest, let me know - I'm trying to build up a library of as much early Hoover history as possible!

Interesting Book!!

Thanks for posting it in it's entirety. Interesting imprint on the back. Ashley and Cardington are just a stone's throw away from me!
