Rescued a Concept Two Electronic that was bound for the trash today. In perfect working order, with the helpmate! It cleans very well, and grooms the carpet better than my Kirby or my Royal, but... This is my first experience with a Power Drive equipped Hoover. Is it suposed to be so fast and so jerky? Felt like it was gonna rip my arm off until I got used to it...

grooms better than kirby or royal?? you must be using soft/worn single row brush rolls.

i found one many moons ago- cool machine, just ultra-stupid heavy. i do remember it shifting very quickly. maybe mine was bad too?

i tossed it because it had cracked brush housing, little did i know i could find one somewhere.

Hoover Power-Drive tansmissions are notorious for being jerky. If the Hoover wasn't like how you described, then there would be a problem.

I've had three Hoover models with powerdrive. All were the same: fast and jerky.

Yes, it really does groom better. Of course, its up against a G3 Kirby, not a Tradition or a Classic. Those things could make shag stand up and take notice, lol. So all Hoover power drive models have that same jerkiness? is there any adjustment on them, or do i just need to get used to it?

They're all like that

All Hoover transmissions are like that-It's just the way they are made. I'm not sure if you can adjust anything on these. Maybe someone who's worked on them could help you out?

Becareful

Those things got some serious power. I almost though mine was going to tear my arm off when I started using it too....

I love the power drive on these! Work great in my mind.

they really do groom far better than anything! And suck dry paint off your neighbors house!
