Hi Everyone,

How does one remove the outer bag from a Hoover Concept One for washing?  I have one that is in very good shape, but need to clean the bag because it blows a lot of dust when you turn on the machine.  Any tips or tricks are greatly appreciated.

To remove the Concept One's outer bag, first remove the disposable bag and then the bag adapter tube by gently prying back the retention clips on either side of the adapter while pulling the adapter back and then up. Next, to remove the white plastic plate which fastens the outer bag to the plastic console, place a long screwdriver into both of the oval-shaped openings at the outer edges of the plate and gently pry outward to release the retention tabs, then flex the plate backward until it pulls free of the handle console. You then remove the two screws from the bottom plate of the outer bag assembly, then lift the bottom plate up past the lower seal of the dirt duct leading from the fan chamber.

Now, with the outer bag assembly free from the cleaner, remove the bottom plate from the bottom of the outer bag by gently pulling the plastic hem out of the groove around the upper edge of the plate. Then, to remove the plastic cap from the top of the outer bag, release the two rectangular tabs located inside the top of the cap, then lift the outer shell of the cap off the inner portion. After that, simply pull the plastic hem of the top of the outer bag out of the groove in the bottom of the inner portion of the bag cap.

I recommend using Woolite or any other gentle detergent, and the gentle cycle of the washing machine with cold water. Then allow the bag to air dry, or use the air-only setting of your automatic dryer. I do not recommend using any degree of heat as doing so may melt or damage the plastic hem at the top and bottom of the outer bag.
