I bought the bursh vac it came with all the attachments and owners manual. It cleans my furniture and area rugs great. My Riccar I found on facebook marketplace all it needed was a belt and new hepa bag paid 75 bucks for it.
Two great finds and a very good deal on your Riccar!
I have very fond memories of the Hoover Brush Vac and remember cleaning my grandmas furniture with one I bought at a garage sale, new in box! I also loved using the Hoover Help Mate, without the brushroll and sold separately or as part of the Hoover Concept 2 Upright Vacuum. I wish I still had my Hoover Brush Vac, Hoover Sidewinder and my beautiful (bought brand new) Hoover Concept 2, like in my second picture. But sadly or foolishly back in my 20’s I didn’t keep my vacuums for long and when I bought a new one, would sell the old ones. Now I’m like the crazy cat lady and have about 250 vacuums! Lol Anyhow, congrats on that sweet Hoover!
I’ve seen a lot of older Riccar too and they seem to be a workhorse that lasts for many years with little or no troubles. Your 8955 is very nice and such a great deal too. I learned from my friend Roger (ibaisaic) about using car polish (I typically use a liquid car wax or for light duty to keep them shiny, a spray car wax) makes them look shiny and new again.
Excellent finds and thank you for sharing with us!
