I’ve been doing fine. I’m getting back into vacuums. I donated some while I was away, but I still have most of them. Here’s a pic of my Shop Vac. The grinding noise is gone since I fixed it a few days ago.

Victor,

It's good to see you posting again. I thought you had lost interest in vacuum collecting. Glad you still are. We conversed back and forth a couple years ago about my Foldaway 3100 Turbo. Still have it. Sure wish the filter wasn't located in the dirt canister, it sure gets dirty fast, though performance doesn't seem to suffer much.

One of my favorite Hoover's is my U5462-900. Ruby Red Transparent, non-propelled which is fine as it weighs enough already! I like the dirt sensor as I use it as a guide to stay in the area until the light goes green, and I find it fairly accurate. I'm glad it's bagged, so much easier to deal with just changing the bag and not having to bang filters outside or cleaning the various parts of the machine.

I had to finally part ways with a slew of plastic vacuums I had around for years waiting for parts that were n/a or priced too high. Nine went to the recycle this weekend. They try to salvage and sell any good machines they get in.

One that I wish I could have refurbished was a Hoover UH78200RM. This model is a full sized with a foldaway handle. It had a retractable cord which is nice and the wheels although plastic had a rubber tread around them which I don't see that much of these days. Smoother rolling on hard surfaces and better traction while vacuuming. Not sure when it was manufactured, there was a manufacture code #JIDA.

Question: What is the difference between a model "U" or "UH" in the serial numbers? Welcome back! Billy

.

The difference Between the U and the UH model numbers would be When Hoover designed the models. The U Model numbers are the Models that were designed before the 2010, while the UH Models numbers are the ones designed after 2010.
