Hello all.
I'm new here, and I'm not even sure if this is the right place for this post, but I'll give it a shot.
I don't know that I'm so much a vacuum collector, as I am a hoarder.
That being said; I have four, fairly late model Electrolux canisters.
Three Epic 6500s, and one Ambassador III.
With the exception of the 75th Anniversary Epic, (because it's dated), I have no idea how to date them based on color combinations.
Speaking of colors, that brings me to my dilemma.
I need an on-board combination tool and adapter for the 75th Anniversary, and the same tool, (without adapter), and a (very short?) crevice tool for the Ambassador.
I'm finding that these parts are out there, in a ton of different colors.
And it's nearly impossible to know if it's going to be the right color just looking at an eBay listing.
I'm wondering if anyone here might have these parts, that maybe you're not using.
I don't know if I'm alone in this, but I'm quite obsessive about the attachments matching the machine.
One of my Epics, I bought "seller refurbished" from eBay.
Apparently, the on-board tools were missing from it when they got it, and they replaced them with whatever colors they could find. I love the vacuum, and it's my "daily driver", but the mismatched tools really stand out like a sore thumb every time I look at it.
That one is sort of white, with light blue trim, and a "Good Housekeeping" decal near the on/off switch.
I'm not looking to replace those tools at this time, but the other two machines, since the tools are missing, I want to get the correct colors.
The Epic is, of course, the 75th Anniversary, sort of off white color with grey trim.
And the Ambassador is the sort of dark grey color. I have no idea what year, but it seems like it was towards the end of the "Electrolux" branded models.
Both of these vacuums were curb finds that I felt the need to rescue.
The Ambassador looks almost like new, and runs fine, but makes what I believe is some bearing noise when the motor is winding down.
The Anniversary Epic doesn't run at all, so I'm apparently going to have to learn how to replace a motor at some point in that one.
If anyone is still reading, here in chapter twelve; thank you!
And, if you happen to have any of the parts and pieces that I need, please let me know.
Thank you!
Barry
