I recently purchased a Tristar Powernozzle (I think it is a 2-102) with the flat belt. The handle is very wobbly. It does not appear that any components are broken in the neck or the frame of the nozzle, and it does not appear that there are any missing parts based on the diagrams online. The spring latch is not broken, or bent.
Does anyone know if the older Tristar Powernozzles are supposed to be wobbly or if there is a some sort of retainer clip that is missing to secure the neck in the nozzle?

Thanks for any help.

Is it the elbow that is wobbly inside of the power head or is it the power nozzle body that is not stable on a surface?

If it's the power nozzle body then you would want to check wheels.

Most likely it is the elbow in the power nozzle. Many power heads over time get wobbly elbows. It's not a question of broken of missing parts but more a factor of wear. Gaskets and seals probably have worn some. Plates that the elbow ride on to hold it in place have worn over time. It's amazing what a few hairs width worth of wear can cause as far as wobbliness. You could try a layer or so of electrical tape wound around supports on the elbow. You could try weather stripping with a smooth surface in place of seals or could try seeking new parts.

Thank you for the responses and assistance. Both of the wheels are perfect and roll without any issues. It seems that the wobbly issue is coming from the elbow of the powernozzle not having support. I have ordered a new elbow and hopefully that will correct the problem.

Thanks again!!!
