Give this a try---- I also have a Heritage II model and when it will not start I remove the rug nozzle (or hose) and twirl the fan around by the belt drive shaft several times . This gets the carbon motor brushes into alignment and it always works for me. I hope this helps. Give it a try and see if it works.
