Yes and thank you
There is no grinding at all and it doesn’t take much resistance to stop the brush. I can stop it with my hand. Generally the vac is in great shape. The filters are clean and nothing else is broken or abused and our neighbors really keep their house and things very nice. I’ll get the belts and hopefully it will be good to go. My niece has little money and goes through vacs quickly so would prefer to spend the belt money and give the vac to her so she doesn’t have to spend money on cheap Bissell stuff that clog and she throws away. I had given her a Dyson dc10 I had rescued in the past that needed a hose. Spent the money on a generic hose replacement but who knows what she did to the vac…about a year or so later, the cyclone part of the dust bin had a hole in it, the handle latch for the dust bin was broken off and a rubber utility bungee cord was wrapped around the vac to hold the bin on and the brush roll wouldn’t spin and there was just grinding. At that point I « cut the cord » to use on something else, took my replacement hose off, kept the attachments I had also purchased and threw the rest in the trash, though the motor still worked. I guess I could have kept the filters but I did not. That one wasn’t in as good of shape as this one is when I received it so hopefully this one will last her longer once I replace the belts. I have a feeling the kids used the other one as some sort of play toy. They do look tempting in that manner.
