Hello to my fellow vacuum collectors. My name is Ben and I've been collecting vacuums ever since I can remember, I joined a while ago and though I'm not a paid member yet I am very happy to be a "semi-member"! For years I have enjoyed reading this site and have gained a wealth of knowledge from the members on this site. Some things about me are obviously I love vacuums mainly Kirby and vintage Hoovers, I restore, polish, scrub and work on every machine I have, which is about 60 at the moment! I love to be active and work with my hands especially on anything mechanical but I am also a huge foodie with dreams of a culinary degree and a job as a chef. I am also very much into anything vintage home from kitchen and wash appliances to furniture and other trinkets! One of my goals/ dreams is to be able to go to one of your conventions, I'd love to be able to meet you all!! Recently I've been in and out of the hospital and have moved in with my older sister and father in Las Vegas, NV, I'd love to have a mini meet with anyone in my area!! Well I just thought I would tell you all a bit about myself and say that I would love to get to know you all as well. Thank you for your time in reading my whats probably pathetic rambling:).

Welcome!

We're glad to have you!

The Conventions are a blast! I went to Cleveland this year to celebrate 100 years of Kirby, and everyone had the time of their life. I Sobbed uncontrollably through the Farewell Breakfast. Are you a member of the Vacuum Cleaner Collectors' Club? Be aware that Vacuumland and the VCCC are two separate, independent organizations. You must register with the VCCC to attend a convention. It's worth it!

Well said Clayton. The VCCC conventions are a blast! It's well worth it to join the VCCC. The conventions are so much fun! This year we went to three major vacuum companies and received free prizes! The VCCC conventions are well organized and we have a wonderful team who puts fourth their time and effort to make the conventions an enjoyable experience for all. Hope to see everyone and some new faces next year!

Hmmm. As far as I can tell VCCC doesn't have a website. Is that correct? What kind of social media do they have, say a Facebook page or some other discussion groups?

website

The website was presented to the members at the convention. You were there Clayton. It is called The Vacuum Cleaner Collectors Club. A member’s partner is working on the site for us.

The VCCC is only one of several groups (clubs). There are other Vacuum Collectors Conventions as well. All the clubs and groups I know of, with the exception of the VCCC, cost nothing to join and don't charge to attend their conventions. The Vacuum Cleaner Collectors Group has an annual convention every June. I always enjoy seeing my friends in the group each year. Many Vacuumland members are not part of any other Club or Group, and still manage to network and make friends. There are mini meets these folks also plan and attend. We are all united by our passion for sweepers, so "welcome to the club".

First of all it is such a pleasure to meet you all! I am not a member of the VCCC I would love to become one though and find out so more information on it. Since I first found this website I have wanted to attend a real live convention or have a mini meet! I found this site when I was a freshmen in high school and I had just randomly bought myself a Kirby Tradition for my birthday and when I looked it up this site showed up and since then I've been hooked here and now have a fairly decent collection most of which are up and running because of the knowledge I gained from this site! Anyway thank you all for the replies and the warm welcome I hope to become a full member here and at the VCCC! Ben B
