I recently picked up a handheld....the pin that aligns with the twist on bag is on the bottom of the "spout"....if you twist on the bag, it is upside down.
I need to turn the metal fixture on the bag 180 degrees.
My question: how does the bag attach to the metal part ? It seems that it is sewn in somehow.
thanks
dave

If you show pics of vacuum it would be easier to tell.
Usually on inside of the bag there is something that holds bag and clasp in place.

Turn the bag inside-out. There should be a steel wire wound around the cloth, clamping it to the metal ring. Be wary, if the fabric is old and brittle, and the wire is rusty, removing the wire will take the fabric with it.

Also, that looks like a cadillac bag fitting. Also, also, nice cloth wire in the background. Looks just like the one I have a spool of.

follow up

Yes, it is a Cadillac handheld....I own an older Cadillac (car) and bought it for that reason....doesn't really fit the rest of my collection.
The bag and vac are in great shape...I will try to remove the wire or, maybe, I can
simply twist the bag around without doing anything. Not sure how it became 180
degrees off in the first place unless it was twisted.
The cord was replaced with the cloth cord from Sundial Wire...great product !
thanks

If someone replaced the bag or maybe took it apart to wash it, they might have inadvertently put it back on backwards. My Hoover 700 somehow has the bag on backwards too.

thanks again - it worked

Good deal - I did turn the bag inside out and removed the wire. Replaced
it with a stainless wire after turning the bag....whole process took only
15 minutes.....
Pics show the wire and the finished product
THANKS !
Dave

Sorry Madman

I thought you or someone was interested at $50 but it did not sell.
I didn't bid at $50.
When I saw it relisted at a $40 buy it now, I did it.
Just to let you know, the box is pretty much mold infested but can be cleaned
since the inside is not paper but some type of fabric.
The color on the box does not match the color on the bag so, not sure if it
is original.
I'll leave the vacuum to you in my Will.

I'll look forward to your demise :3

lol

No worries mate. At least it's got a good home. But uh, yeah. The reason it was relisted at $40 was because I asked the seller to do so. :P
