Absolutely what I have intended on doing. Now a really curious question is the hose pin out and if it matters at all? I do not suspect as the pig tail on the PN can be flipped around. However it has turned more into a salvage for usage at this rate than a restoration. However keep in mind that this hose would have been a complete write off in terms of providing power to the PN!
I have shortened the hose by 2.5 inches and the terminals I do not have so a solder job is being done. 
Looks rough on the handle part but will eventually find a filler close to colour match.
