Hello. Does anyone have a good motor for a GE Swivel Top canister? I have a C7 that has a bad bearing and my vac guy told me a replacement is not available. Any assistance would be appreciated. The C7 is like new and is a favorite, so I'd like to get a good motor for it. Thanks.

A bearing's a bearing. 90% of the vacuum motor bearings are something that is used in many other applications. Bearings are seldom exclusive to one application and especially so for simple household appliances. When a product is being designed the engineer will decide what kind of load the bearing has to deal with then look in a catalog for something off the shelf that does the job. They are not going to design and manufacture a bespoke bearing for a vacuum motor !
Example, when looking for replacement bearings for an old Panasonic Jet Flo canister motor I discovered the correct bearing is a popular front wheel bearing for quads. I ended up with five different manufacturers offering the correct size bearing. Take the bearing out of the GE motor, find where the dimensions are stamped onto the race ( will probably need a magnifying glass to read ) and find another bearing the same size.
