My 4 year old spotted this beaut (his word) on the side of the road yesterday so we took it home. We just ordered one of the original orange bags after being told the blue is not original. It's our plan to restore it but she works already! Someone said it's probably a 1974-75 U4047 and someone else gave us a link to a brush roll we can buy that doesn't have U4047 on its description list for hoover upright vacuums. I do not know how to read the model number and can barely see the serial number. Can you help me figure it out?

The brush roll

The brush roll I recommended is for Hoover Convertibles. Basically, each model number just indicates color, and headlight/hood style. Mechanically, they're all the same.

If he recommended a cwp brushroll. dont get it. they will over stress these older lower amperage motors. best bet it to take it to a vacuum shop and have the service tech re grease the existing bearings. they should have brush strips on hand for a machine that new if theyre worn out. a grease job and new brush strips will be less cost than a new cwp brushroll anyways.
