I made a trip up to the flea market where I got my Eureka Ultra last year, and had a little bit of luck. Since it is out of season, there were barely any outdoor vendors, but the inside was PACKED with random junk, as usual. There are 6 main buildings, and each one had at least one Hoover elite, no joke. They were either 200s, or 350s. I did find a Hoover Legacy buried under tons of stuff, that I had as a kid. This thing was caked in dirt, but after cleaning it off, it came out very well, but the motor was dead. So I found another motor for it, and it is as good as new! I paid 2 dollars for it!
Next was a Regina Housekeeper 5000, that is not pictured. It is to far gone, so I just threw it out. It was free though.
I also found a very neat Self Propelled Dirt Devil Cruiser! I have wanted one of these for quite a while, and I remember seeing them at Home Depot, and thinking they looked like a Kirby. All I had to do was unjam the brushroll and give it a wipe down. It is also missing the turbo tool and crevice tool, but I do have some I can put on it! I got that one for 6 dollars.
Lastly, is a Hoover Convertible High Performance. I found this one $20 dollars at the vacuum store there. I couldn't decide between this or a neat F&G. It sure is neat though!

OOOOOOOHHHHHH CHASE........ I just mentioned I wanted a Dirt Devil Cruiser in my wish list post (even though it's older, it was in parenthesis!) I've wanted one since I first saw them, and have been scouring Ebay and Craig's List... apparently they are rare. I'M SO JEALOUS, YOU DIRTY RAT! LOL

Is there a way to turn the self propelled feature on or off? How is the power and noise level? I've never used one, just drooled over them :o) That's the only DD I like save the original Broom Vac.

If you get time to do a video, I'd sure love to see it in action.

It even came with the attachments..... GRRRRRRRRRRRRR! :O)

Your in luck!

I just uploaded a video of it a little while ago! Vacman96 is my user name!
Unfortunately, you can't turn the self propel off, and I have to carry it to move it around, because the handle release is broken=/

Cool.... good job on the video. That sucks when you break a machine right after getting it.... I cracked my Ultralux handle 2 days after getting it and mine was like the only one left that didn't have a cracked handle.... I was so mad I couldn't sleep that night. The handle release thing is annoying.... I just fixed my Innovations, but who knows how long it will last.

Thanks for doing the video.... is the filter clean? I just wonder if the suction would be better if it was cleaned...

I spent about 10 minutes with my Kenmore Progressive going through every part of the filter making sure it was clean. It is probably jsut because it has a small hose.

If only...

If only I knew at the time someone wanted a 90s Hoover like that, several would not have been turned into the scrap yard sadly. Alas, that was years ago.

I got my Dirt Devil Cruiser vacuum from when one of the vac places here went out of business-got it for a very low price-the machine works well.Mine is bagless.Did DD make a bagged one?and mine has the attachments like the one shown in the picture. The one I got was a trade in or one left after service for more than 30days.
