Well I saw this model 112b, also known as the limited edition model, Filter Queen for sale around the area and decided I'd pick it up so I could see how airflow is retained over a period of use.
In the past i've tried this with other models and a baird guage I've seen significant drops from one use, but back then it was cleaning up after 4 people and 2 cats in a larger and much more high traffic space.My current living situation not only has less space but much less traffic.
I was actually quite surprised by this test. I was expecting a much higher drop off. I even had the airflow increase slightly on day 4. I'm unsure how that happened but I know i measured it at least twice. I think either moving the machine around may have knocked some debris from the cone filter, or that the swirling mass of cat was was scrubbing the sides off.
Opening up the bin was also a surprise I found more grit in there than I expected. The airflow is not too impressive compared to other high end machines i've measured, and the powerheads i've always felt were weak.
Curiosity led to me pair the Filter Queen with a Wessel Werk hose to see how flow would be effected, then I ended up running it with a VG3 power nozzzle after installing a fresh cone. The Wessel Werk hose despite it's longer length ended up increasing the hose end airflow. The superior power head ended up finding a fair amount of fine debris for a single run.
