The buyer who I sold my Fantom Fury to, as well as myself, are having this issue with the machine where we're having a hard time keeping the brushroll retained in the lower housing. It tends to lift up while the top cover is removed. He has been DM'ing me on Instagram to troubleshoot this issue.
Considering the difficulty of installing a belt, due to the tension, this gets quite annoying when trying to put the brushroll back in. Even when putting the brushroll in first, THEN stretching the belt over the motor shaft, the brush still lifts up. And it IS oriented correctly.
For the record, the brushroll is still in great shape; the bearings aren't bad and both end caps are being put into the matching slots.
The best method I've found is to put the brushroll in first, hold it down with my foot and stretch the belt around the motor shaft. Then I let go of the brushroll and put the top cover on as quickly as I can, before the brush lifts up. I relayed this information to the buyer, and he seems to have gotten the brushroll and belt to stay.
Does anybody else have this much difficulty keeping the brushroll retained in a Fantom Fury?
