This is definitely not a fairfax. This is a commercial shop vac unit from I believe the late 80's? (Correct me if I am wrong on the date). I have one of these, only with a larger stainless tank, and it is really beat up. It got loaned to a couple people and just got wrecked over the years. If you look closely under the hose inlet on the tank of the machine, it has the shop vac logo in red.Hope this helps,Daniel
