Euro vs American Sebos

I've got a Sebo itch recently. I've used an old worn Versmatic before but never something new, including their power nozzle which seems to be a favorite among central vac dealers these days. The only issue is that here in the states they are absurdly expensive. $850 for the X4 and $550 for the Dart. I was doing some research tonight and saw on sebo.co.uk you can buy a brand new X7, which is nearly $1,100 here, for only £299.99, or about $360. Now that seems reasonable! On Amazon in Germany the same machine is €424.59.

Are there any major differences between the UK, Euro, and American markets? I'm assuming part of the price tag is high in the United States to give it a suggestion of quality and premium. It is definitely considered a higher-end brand here. Is it also considered a premium product in Europe?
 
They are also considered premium here in the UK. I've no idea why there is such a big price difference as the machines are essentially the same bar a few minor changes.

You have a version of the Felix called the Dart. From what I've seen on YT your Dart doesn't have a swivel neck but has the button to turn the brush motor off.

Our Dart has the swivel neck but no button to turn the brush motor off.

Overall the machines are the same though. Same quality, motors, parts etc

I've got 3 Sebo's as my daily vacs in the house. All from their commercial range... Dart, XP20 and D8.

That's a nice collection! Which is your favorite? From most of the videos I've watched/specs I've seen it sounds like the Felix has an edge on cleaning ability/usability. Is the bag much smaller? It's been awhile since buying a new machine and I've very tempted to order one lol
 
It’s hard to choose a favourite… that’s why I have all 3 haha

The Felix or commercial Dart has a 3.5 litre bag.
The domestic X series range or commercial XP range have a 5.3 litre bag.
The D series in both domestic and commercial variants have a 6 litre bag.

Today for example I’ve vacuumed the kitchen, dining room area and stairs with the Dart mostly using the parquet nozzle. I did the living room with the XP20 and tomorrow when I get round to it I’ll do upstairs with the D8. If I’m pressed for time I’ll usually use one machine for the whole house.

They’re all very versatile but yes you’re right the Felix / Dart offers the most flexibility and convenience.

Having said that if you have a large property with lots of open space and carpet then the wider head on the X / XP machine is well suited.
 
I have heard that the attachments on the D4 canister seem to fall out if their storage spots - has Sebo fixed that problem?

I love the design of the D4 and that 40 foot cord is very unique for canister / cylinder vacs.
 
New X4

Ended up buying an X4 yesterday. Originally went in for a Dart but the handle weight was way heavier than the X4 and didn't feel as comfortable.

Really happy with the purchase. The plastic quality of the wand and attachments are a little thin for a $849 machine but it's quiet. Easier to use than any other upright I've owned. Being able to switch from floor to hose use easily has become very important to me. The dealer was playing an IBAISAIC video which I thought was interesting.

Sebo in the United States

I'm not sure why Sebo cleaners are much more expensive here, could it be import costs since they are shipped from Germany? I wonder if the price for other European brands such as Miele and Numatic are also much higher here? I paid $330 for my Miele C1 Olympus which is a nice straight suction canister and I paid around $400 for my Numatic Henry. I have two Sebo vacuums, the Sebo Felix which I think is probably the best upright available today and the Sebo D1 which is the straight suction version of the D4. I can't remember what I paid for the D1 but I paid $699 for the Felix. I don't think the XP series is available here but there is another brand sold here called Windsor that sells commercial vacuums and I think they are actually made by Sebo, that might be the same thing, not sure. The Sebo power nozzles are great, probably the best power nozzle you can get for a central vacuum.

I know there are some models Sebo doesn't import here but does in other countries including Canada. Other than the prices and colors, the only big differences that I see are the voltage and wattage. We do have the XP models but they are sold under the Windsor brand which you can get for alot cheaper than buying under the Sebo brand, just you'd lose the extra features. In addition to the Windsor Versamatic which is the same thing as the BS 360 and it's in my humble opinion the best upright Sebo has ever sold on the market.
 
Cost of Sebos in US

If Sebos were a little less here in the US I might own more than my Felix. I am thinking about adding an X7 to my collection, but no way I am paying anywhere near $1,100 for one and used X7’s are rare compared to X4’s.
