I also wonder how difficult would it have to be for Eureka to return to the domestic carpet extractor market. If there's a reason why they are no videos of them on Youtube, it's because they were bad units. IDK if the Bissell units were better or worse. Personally, the Big Green, Rug Doctor, and a few Hoovers are the way to go.

Tons of problems with the Eureka extractors. It was all wrong. People returned every one I ever sold. We were a Eureka dealer for years in my vac shop.

It's further proof that not all Eureka products are good. Sure the Atlantis having a fold-down handle is awesome, but what good does it do when the product is not built well?

It would be extremely difficult or almost impossible to come back selling carpet extractors. First of all, The Eureka Company is gone. Secondly, the market is slowly dying for carpet extractors. At least for residential homes because most of them have been switching from carpet to bare floors. Tom is correct, Eureka had one of if not the worst extractors ever sold. I would've gladly taken a Bissell anyday over a Eureka. But Dirt Devil or Royal is what I would've wanted to buy personally.

Doesn't mean that they're a better company. In fact, Bissell took over Eureka's sister brand Sanitaire and as of today, they still sell some of Eureka's older commercial vacuums.
