Well I now have in my possession a eureka 2042. Never thought I'd own a eureka personally never cared for them. But man has this thing turned me around it don't look or sound like it but man that power it packs is in believable. Might even out wit my Kirby g6. Only problem I'm having issues with is the bag I'm not sure if the Hoover c type bags I've fitted are a bad match or if I'm doing something wrong but man does it kick out some dust also the vinyl bag won't zip any advice? Love this machine tho really eager to fix this small problem

Yep,

Your Eureka takes the ever-famous Style F&G bags. They're extremely easy to come by, and are usually inexpensive. They use a paper tube on the front that connects to the exhaust, and that turns them into top fill.

Congratulations on acquiring one of the best upright vacuum cleaners of the 1970's. Eureka's Model 2042 was the top rated upright vacuum cleaner in its Consumer Reports' 1974 report, and was also listed as a Best Buy because it was great value for the money. The second vac after the 2042 was the more deluxe 2082 Eureka Rugulator Cordaway upright with the gold box-top bag.

"Eureka. The very best in vacuum cleaners. And more kinds of vacuum cleaners than anyone else in the world." (1972 TV commercial)
