I thought at first the advertiser made a mistake, but after seeing several different advertisements—from 1979 to 1980, then again from 1989 to 1992—I found that there were indeed two different versions of the Model 1447; although only version 2 has been uploaded to the Internet (unless version 1 was not identified). I know there have been a few other reused Eureka model numbers, but the span between was greater than 10 years and some were JCP exclusives.

Here are two advertisements that attest to the fact:

1. 1979 Mar. 7 SPOKANE DAILY CHRONICLE
2. 1990 Feb. 21 HERALD JOURNAL

1447-A photo located plus the 1457-A ...

Thanks to SpiritOf76's post from a salesmen's catalog photo, I located the original white and Big Bad Orange model-type 1447-A. I also discovered the 1457-A in the same color combination on the page.

Model-Types 1447-B & 1457-B were first issued in 1990 & 1989, respectively according to located newspaper ads. These had quite different features and stylings; whereas Eureka typically just changed the color and/or one other feature for later types when there was an immediate rather than delayed succession.

Photos:

1. White & Big Bad Orange (Unoffical) Tables (exclusive of the perceived earlier orange & chrome commercial model-types 2035-A and 2045-A and the later orange & chrome model-types C2063-A, C2066-A & 1495-A). Note that the 1447-A was essentially the 1418-A with a V-G II beater-brush roll, and the 1457-A was the V-G II counterpart of the 1424-A. The different model numbers would have avoided any confusion between the two if they were displayed together on the same sales floor. The table is a work in progress. Edits are invited.

2. Catalog page posted by SpiritOf76 (circa 1978; models 1458, 1446, 2240, 2042, 1447, 1457; these would have all been Type A - except 2042 - with metal handles & hoods and 3.5A motors)

3. Model-Type 1447-B (plastic handle & hood, 4.0A motor; no separate photo yet located for Type A)

4. Model-Type 1457-A (metal handle & hood, 4.0A motor)

5. Model-Type 1457-B (plastic handle & hood, 4.0A motor)

Surprise!

It turns out that my initial thought was correct that Eureka made two versions of the 1447 (and likely the 1457, too)—the model number was reissued. So, now I wonder what the difference was between the second version 1447-A and 1447-B as both appear to be cosmetically the same, both have the gold-painted Disturbulator, and the ratings plates reveal no changes. Note that Eureka at this time was including the production time in its serial numbers (1447-A made during the 20th week of 1989, and 1447-B in the 7th week of 1990).

Here's a FB photo of a model-type 1447-A from 1989, its ratings sticker, and the 1447-B's rating sticker from an eBay listing:
