Hey guys. A couple of years ago one of my moms cousin gave me a Kirby 516 with attachments and polisher.Well at that time I didnt like Kirbys at all.Well since I I thought it was a dirty old vacuum I gave it to my Grams nieghbor. She had a big outdoor porch and didnt want to use her Kirby G4 so I gave it to her.Well the coupler for the hose was missing so she just put it in her shed.So I was snopping around there and saw the attachments. My moms cousin who gave it to me didnt have the box for attachments so she put them in a basket. There was tons of newspapers on there so I picked up this evolope slipped in the side of the basket. So I opened it up much to my amazment there was some old yellowed paper in there so I took it out.It was a Eureka challenger manual. Not only was there the manual but also a guaramtee.I put it in my pocket then said good bye and went home.I carefully examened it the staples were rusted and came off.So here it is enjoy first time posting pictures on here

The Challenger

is in my view the most beautiful Eureka they ever made. Thanks for posting the pix of the instruction booklet. However, if you have access to a scanner you can get much clearer images.

Now to only find one...! It's another machine on my list of "Holy Grail" Vacuums!!

WOW!!-What a find and a treasure-its interesting how the MANUALS survive long after the machine it went to is gone. This cleaner also had an early "top fill" bag-see the bag diagram in the book-very interesting-That was one really NICE Eureka vacuum.Wish the Eureka "challenger" was still made-would certainly "challenge" some of the poor designs made today!

The Best

Hi Andrew What a find i would love that machine i can see it all shinning up. That makes me relize they just will never make vacuums like that ever again. I think the closest one is a Kirby.Have a good day Doug

Eureka Challenger

Guys, I have a wonderful Eureka G2 that looks a lot like the
Challenager. Mine has a pair of wheels in the back rather then
the swivel one. G2 has a black metal handle, with the round
wooden ball on the top of the handle. Much like the the handle on the older suction only machines. The bag is orginal
but not to the machine. Probably form the late 40's.
Sure wish I could take a picture so you could see. Needs to be
polished up.
The machine runs so smooth, quit and cleans well too.
