So,

I was given this machine by Jeff Parker many many moons ago. The zipper jammed, and broke, and the hood was kinda all scratched up. After finding a donor machine last fall, I was able to resurrect it as near to stock as possible without going into too much trouble...

So here it is my Eureka Model 2089.

you can see all the pictures on my photo bucket account. Click on the link.

That is probably my favorit machine you have posted today Chad. I just love all the metallic gold, it looks so glamorous,I'm glad you finally got the parts to make this complete once again.

Pete and Sam,

Again thanks for replying.

Pete- I never say anymore that lightening doesn't strike twice, but there are more to be had. I peruse all available, and obtainable thrift stores in the Ann-Arbor straight across to Detroit and downriver almost to Toledo area looking for machines. IF I ever get another, it'll be yours. PROMISE!

Sam- Glad you liked it buddy. I hav an original advertisement up at my mother's house for it that I mounted on a piece of board so i could put it in a picture frame... It was from I believe Better Homes and Gardens, February 1974. It shows this machine in full regalia, with a few other models below it. They talk more about the colors, and fabric like bags than they do power and performance. This of course was before the 4.5 and up amp motors, when most Eurekas of various price ranges were stuck with the 3.5 amp one and two speed motors respectively.
