I'm getting this vacuum I got off eBay.
It's a cordaway with a hi and low speed. It will need cleaned up but I've seen much worse.
It has a 3.5 blender motor and hi and low speed.
If I put a sanitaire 7 amp motor in it would it negate the hi and low speed. I was wondering because it could be cool is for a 3.5 amp motor.
Info in the vac would be appreciated.

Instant on off switch

In second picture showing the handle, I believe that is a feature of this model that immediately shuts off power when the handle is released. Turns on again when handle is squeezed. It was described in an ad for this machine.
Hope you enjoy your Eureka!

Thanks

That's what I thought. It's a great looking vacuum and a rare one. I'll leave it original.

You might actually like that 3.5 amp motor. If I’m not mistaken those actually had a decent amount of power for what they were, I believe it is a pancake motor.

Eureka uprights with the “Power Touch” handle have a three-setting switch: low power, high power and “attachments”. The first two settings use the power touch button on the underside of the handle. The “attachment” setting is an “always on” setting when using the optional above-the-floor attachments, or if you want to have the motor always on while vacuuming carpets. The setting uses the high motor speed. I always thought the feature was cool - if you need to pause your vacuuming to move a piece of furniture or to answer the phone, you just let go of the handle and voila - the machine turns off.

Nice

Thanks for all the info. I wasn't aware of the third setting good to know.
The vacuum is said to be here on Monday. I hope so.
