Hi I have a eureka model 2042 that i have actually had for quite some time. i bought it about 5 years ago at a flea market and the vacuum is in great shape and i have the original paperwork with it as well. i have used it daily without a problem but one issue i am running into is that on the original outer bag the sipper is falling apart. the bag is in great condition besides for that so i hate to buy some bland looking aftermarket bag if i can keep the original. is there any way to replace this zipper? there is no saving this one because all the teeth are falling out. any help would be appreciated thanks.

Just replace the zipper. It's not easy, unless you're good at sewing and have a lot of patience. I'm sure a tailor could help you.

You might also check with

a dry cleaner or a little shoe repair shop if near you. If they don't maybe they know where you could go. Have you tried a vac. repair shop/dealer?
