That's a great little vacuum cleaner, and for 5 bucks...come on. My friend was going to pitch his model #5071 because the motor was acting erratic. I adopted the cleaner and took it to my guy in town. Just needed a new set of carbons.He said whoever owned this machine probably used it in the ESP mode most of the time, which will wear the brushes down much faster.
These machines in my humble opinion, cleaned as well as their cousins the Sanitaire's at that time, just dressed up for Sunday school. The TOL Eureka's with all the bells and whistles were pretty close price wise to Sanitaire's if I recall correctly. 269.00+.
Question: Did Sanitaire ever offer a self-propelled model in either the red or blue line back then (70's-80's)?
Question#2! How many Eureka's do you currently own from the beginning thru the mid 80's give or take?
