It looks like Eureka debuted the Rugulator in 1969…see advertisement below. It does not even indicate the Vibra Groomer brush roll yet….that must have debuted a year later. Interesting that the ad does not say that you need to tip the cleaner head up off the rug to move the slider knob. If you don’t tip it back off the rug, it’s almost impossible to move!!!!
I can imagine that in the first years there was some overlap: Eureka’s upright line-up must have included both Rugulator deluxe uprights and less expensive cleaners still showing the top-side hose port in front.
