Hi:
I have a "new" in box Emdeko Filtex vacuum. it was originally owned by my aunt and uncle who have passed away. They were somewhat eccentric, as they had many items in their house that had never been used. As a matter of fact this vacuum was un-opened (therefore it is unused); stapled shut in the original box from the manufacturer. i'm guessing from the 60's or the 70's. at the time we opened it, we plugged it in to confirm that it worked.
I've been torn about whether I should use this vac, or whether I should find someone who would appreciate it more than me.
i'm going to bet that it probably works well and is built like a battle-ax.
any suggestions out there on this vac and whether it has a following?
thanks for the help!

The Emdeko Filtex

Was the last version of the Filtex vacuum, These are very good, I have one with the box too, these are perhaps the only vacuum ever made that was made of Masonite, that's right, look inside and you will see its NOT metal, this was a good idea for both weight and sound reduction, the attachments are some of the finest ever made, all in all a very good machine,A company started by a man named Mr Hoppe, he died and his wife ran the company for many years very successfully in a time when that just was not done.
