Hi, all . First post , new member. UK resident here.

I picked up a cream and green Electrolux Z62 for a song. I love the mid century styling annd the font on the branding here. It came with anll the attachments . Unfortunately, it only came with one extension tube . It needs a good clean and the suction is barely existent.

Before I start work on it , does anyone know where I can get a replacement tube from? And , if there is a generic universal tube that will fit this vintage model , and what I should look for.

Looking forward to hearing from you all

Thanks

Lux 62

Hello there

That is a nice looking Electrolux 62. Your best bet is probably to look around the island or around the south coast of England for an old vacuum repair shop which might have some old stock maybe as trade ins. Your problem is that this particular tube arrangement is that is was used in the UK for about 3 - 4 years at the end of the 1950s, after this point they moved, for many years to an arrangement with a long hose handle and long, single tube (or wand as they are often referred to).

As an alternative it might be worth trying to induce this ebay seller to ship to you, the listing is currently collection only

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/387897587072

This has the advantage also of a converter for the front cover which will allow you to use a generic 3-peg hose with the cleaner as the 65+ years old hose will probably be leaking a lot of air by this stage. On the other hand the tubes shown may be jammed onto the tools (green nozzle original, cream nozzle is not) and I have found it impossible to release them.

There are a variety of alternatives which might be suitable, to my mind the best option is to show up at a shop with the one you have and see what fits. Another option is to contact https://www.vacuumexchange.co.uk/ who have a very wide variety of old spares and may have one to suit.

Good luck
Al

Ummm......... I may be reading it wrong but is the author not looking for one of the extension wands. Not the hose.

The Extension wands are a fairly standard size. That particular style was used on both the models 62 and 64 as well as a number of Goblin deluxe machines so you should be able to find one in a vac shops used spares bin (If the shops around there still keep any used parts that is)
