So I recently got hold of an Electrolux Sidekick mini power nozzle as part of a full Electrolux tool kit for my uprights. It seems to work fine except for a slight dry bearing squawk, which seems to be coming from the brush roll instead of the motor. Is there a particular type of lubricant I should use on those bearings? light machine oil? heavy grease? maybe something in between?

I usually use a Teflon based dry lube for that. One advantage, it does not attract dirt as much as a petroleum based lube. There are many different brands, but you should be able to find one easily.

The squawk is squelched...

Thanks for the suggestion. I was not familiar with that type of lube but I bought a can while I was out running errands today. All I can say is the squeal is gone. That Sidekick actually now runs quieter than the other one I have; in fact, I went ahead and gave it a squirt as well.
