Here is the problem:
When I turn on my Electrolux it starts and then turns off,the check bag light comes on and the motor shuts off.
Here is what I checked:
checked and changed the bag control
Tried a new bag
checked the after filter
checked hose for blocks
Still motor shuts off within a few seconds and the check bag light comes on.
Any suggestions as to what could be wrong?

Thinking????

Is the hose clogged?

Did you try adjusting the dirt dial?

If it is not the hose, is the hose attatched to the powerhead and perhaps it is clogged?

Are all the vacuum lines connected??? Are the vacuum lines clear or is one or more clogged. In regards to the lines being clear, the inlet that is in the front door, there is a hole that is about the size of a pin head, if you disassemble the front door, you will see the vacuum line running to it. IF this is clogged it can cause problems. Are the vacuum lines cracked?? Just because you changed the valve, it could be defective as well. I've seen some where the plastic that holds the o rings in place, crack a bit and this will cause your problem. And as Morgan said, did you try turning the valve all the way back and forth, sometimes this may jar a little bit of debris out of the way. If you disconnect the vacuum line running to the on/off switch, this will prevent the unit from shutting off, but your bag full indicator will not work. I'd take the valve out again and unscrew the adjusting knob and take a look at the o rings and where they're held in place.

Electrolux Problem

Thanks Morgan and Vernon,
We took the machine to Elecrolux today. It was a hairline crack in the piece that holds the O-ring. It will cost $39.00 to have it fixed. I was a happy camper. Also ordered a new hose while I can still get one to match the machine. If it happened with in 5 years Electrolux would pay for the repair.
I bought this Electrolux for Tom about 8 years ago and it has seen a LOT of use. Now I use it upstairs and my Kirby on the main floor. I never use any of my collection vacs in the house-only in the basement.
We were in the middle of cleaning out a friends house that has sold to close her estate. I had to use my Rainbow instead of my Electrolux. What a difference. I will be glad to get the Electrolux fixed! Thanks for your help.

ahhhhh

It sounds to me like it very possibly could be your contacts ....they are located in the bottom of the door and front of the vacuum. You can get repalcement contact kits.Try that. I just had a lux ap 100 in the vac shop and it was doing the same thing your lux was . I repalced the contacts and it works perfectly.
