can anyone confirm a test for me? if you have BOTH an olympia pn4 and silverdo pn4a. seems my silverado pn4a can do low and medium pile carpets great, but trips the fault circuit on shag. my olympia pn4 does medium pile carpet great and works on shag fine, but not so great on low pile.

is there a way to adjust the rubber neck screws inside for "permanant" fix to work well or certain pile carpets? i know these older pn's had no "height adjustment" the user could adjust. can the neck inside be adjusted to circumvent this per situations? or is the olympia pn4 just meant for deeper pile carpet?

jimmy martin, maybe you can chime in here with your lux expertise?

PN-4s

They were considered self adjusting to any carpet and both should work about the same.Tripping reset might also involve motor bearing condition or belt tension. At different times they had small round holes in metal bottom or small slots in rubber bumper for more airflow.
There was a kit for thicker carpet for PN-4 & first upright.Looked like a small, thin LifeSaver in same blue plastic as PN botom. You would-remove 2 screws & metal bottom, put round 2 sided adhesive at screw holes on plastic bottom, place round spacer on sticker, replace bottom (now raised) & screws.
