I remember seeing photos/illustrations of a floor scrubber/polisher attachment that came with the old American Electrolux vacuums. It fit on the end of the hose/wand (like the power nozzle would).

How long was that offered, and with which models of Electrolux vacs?

Was it for cleaning carpets, polishing hard floors, and scrubbing hard floors?

Would one of these fit on my Canadian AP280? I live in a studio apartment in downtown Calgary, whose floors are all hard. One half of the flat is laminate flooring, and the other half is stone tile. Would an Electrolux floor scrubber attachment (if it fit on my AP280) work for cleaning these floors?

Use this link to view a Electrolux polisher & scrubber thread with lots of history and photographs of USA and Sweden versions:

Perhaps someone else will be able to tell you if there was a Canadian version that originally went with your AP280--so it would color coordinate. Otherwise, being that the polisher & scrubbers are air-powered I would imagine that a USA version (or for that matter a Swedish version) would fit--if the wand diameters are the same size.

I located a current eBay listing of what appears to be a Swedish-built Turbo Polisher--and perhaps sold in Canada (anyway, that's where the listing originates).

You will note on the box label that it states its use with cleaner models 65, 62, and 55 (wish Electrolux Group would have a colored product history chart showing all the models and their years of manufacture along with accessories such as the Turbo Polisher).

Please also observe that this particular accessory had originally been shipped to "Mr. A. H. Elsey, 75A, Grant Road, Addiscombe, Croydon, Surrey" (in London).

Furthermore, it is interesting to note that at that, according to the return label on the box, Swedish Electrolux was known as Electrolux LTD (from its former AB Electrolux and current Electrolux Group).

Here is a photo of the Model Z65 with a Turbo Polisher first posted by chestermikeuk. Perhaps someone can explain why sometimes the model is referred to as "Z65" and other times as simply "65"?
