ELECTROLUX EPIC 8000 FIND ON CRAIGSLIST!

I found this in the Indianapolis Craigslist on Saturday. I fell in love with these vacuums when I had a renaissance Electrolux and then I had another 8000 I sold on ebay and wish I hadn't.

That’s a sharp looking Electrolux! A keeper for sure!

The story behind it was that the lady that sold it to me, well it had belonged to her mother in law that was going into assisted living.

She had only used it a couple of times, she kept using her Silverado instead wanting to keep the 8000 new, and it is new looking, not a mark on it, and it came with the sidekick II and bare floor brush, and all tools. Runs Great!!

I gave $80 for it.

Congratulations on that prestine Epic 8000! I love the Renaissance body machines and the Epic 8000 is certainly a classy looking vacuum. I bought a dark grey Renaissance on eBay last year and it too is in amazing condition. The story behind the machine was actually very similar to your machine. The machine was for sale by a woman whose grandmother had purchased the machine brand new in 1994 or 1995, used it for less than a year, and then went into assisted living. The machine sat in the grandmothers house for a while and then was boxed away in storage for 8 years. The machine even came with the original bill of sale, as well as a set of after filters and bags that were purchased with the machine. The buyer paid around $800 for the machine back then, about half the price of the Guardian or current Guardian Ultra. I waited a long time to find another Renaissance, and I'm glad I waited for one in such amazing shape. What a fantastic price for that machine too!! I paid twice that much for my Renaissance.

I hope you have many years of happy vacuuming with that Lux!! It really is a true shame that Aerus no longer makes the R-style body canisters anymore, they feel so much more solid than the egg shell body machines. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Aerus will come to their senses and bring the R-style body machines back one day.

BTW, the hose on your machine still looks like its new. Depending on the climate and how or where the vacuum is stored, the clear exterior shell of Electrolux vinyl hoses often develop a yellow tint. This yellow tint makes them look old or dirty, even though they may be perfectly clean. From the pictures your hose looks as though it does not have any discoloration which really adds to the overall beauty of the vacuum.

Thanks Steve, your right about the hose, its not yellowed at all. She must have stored it in a good place. The house that I went to

was just a bout 15 years old in a very new addition.

She really took good care of it. And I am glad that I found it, I love that style of body too, I like the fact of the size of it, for one it has the 28foot cord, hose is a foot longer, onboard storage and the controls on the handle, I can't believe that the Ultra Guardian they sell now doesn't have that convenience for the price it is.

I hope that they would adapt this R style back into one of the 3 vacuums they offer!

God does provide you`ll be set for money now once you sell that thing . This will get you back on your financial feet . New apartment new life and more money for you .

Great to see that you were able to take your old carpeting from your previous apartment to your current one . Hopefully you had a Hoover steam vac to remove all the raw sewage that backed up in your old apartment and you were able to have it re installed in your new apartment .

It looks amazing and will make you feel just like home .

I think that is great that he now has the money to spend $80 on a new vacuum and take the old carpet and have it reinstalled in the new apartment. Maybe he can also buy this load of vacuums now once he re-sells that one.

We are also all proud of the fact that your body is healed enough to go and pick these vacuums up, and that you also now have transportation!

Way to go!!

Its nothing short of a miracle isn't it Chris! I guess that I was spending all that time and money this morning at the Indiana Spine Specialists because of the illusion of pain!

Oh and Dan, I love this new apartment and I love the new carpet that they installed for me. Thank God it is nothing like the old, this is really nice!

And I thank my friend Doug for helping me out when I needed it so bad.
