It looks to me like

it says ElectroGrand or Guard. It also looks like it's a Royal badged machine. Definitely not an Electrolux

I would say it's an Elctro-Hygeine. They (electro-hygeine)
were fairly well marketed in Central and Southern Ohio (Athens-home of OHIO University) not to be confused with Ohio State. I knew Freddy Hartman who was the central Ohio dealer. Plus Jeff in Gallion, Ohio (north of columbus) sold for elctro out of Mansfield I believe? Correct me if I'm wrong Jeff. I know that Freddy told me many sales stories over the years. Remember him saying sales people would go to the southern hills of Ohio to compete, door to door with the Electrolux sales people. Who always made sales to those poor mining people down there. Jeff tell us more!!!

Yes, it's definitely an Electro-Hygiene. Note it has the "Hygena-guard" or whatever they called it, the red-painted chamber in the front where you could sprinkle moth balls or pine-scented stuff. That's the only difference between Royal and Electro-Hygiene machines, btw, other than the colors used.

Electro-Grand

was another vacuum built by Royal and sold through the Electro-Hygiene organization. It was identical to the Electro-Hygiene in all ways except for the name and model, and in some cases, the color, but this is the first green one that I've ever seen--most Electro-Grand tanks were blue like the Electro-Hygiene.
And by the way, Charles, that's one beautiful 966 you have there!! Thank you for sharing the picture!!
