It's interesting that at least two Electrolux Corp. executives also held top positions in Consolidated Foods, Inc. That's likely why EC maintained its strong identity in the market and produced some of its best cleaners after being acquired by CF. The new parent company may otherwise have taken EC down a different path by outsourcing and cheapening the home care line.
Here's an excerpt from an online NY TIMES article from March 29, 1974:
"William Teets, president of the Consolidated Foods Corporation, has resigned, stating that it was 'a personal decision.' William A, Buzick Jr., chairman and chief executive officer, has also assumed. [sic] the presidency.
"Mr. Teets, who Is 57 years old, had been president of Electrolux when it was purchased by Consolidated in 1968 and was promoted to president of the corporation two years later. Mr. Buzick, who is 53, has been with the Consolidated organization since 1960 and became its head in 1969."
