Cordwinder
The newer winder is"different".It's MUCH easier!But with both--CAUTION,the spring can cut you in half a second if it gets loose!!On the Olympia style--Remove top trim(3 screws)-remove winder assy screws(1 bottom,2 top)-gently bump and pull winder back and pull off 2 wire tabs-loosen 4 cover screws,hold cord in place before removing cover,remove cover,unwind reel to TAKE TENSION OFF SPRING.It should then be a simple matter of a clip & screws to get to center of reel with push on terminals for cord.You might then use a donor vac or new cords are available.If spring is not neatly wound on its reel you may have to replace remembering the above CAUTION.(When it goes back together the locking pawl must be in 'unlocked' position.)
