Hi all,
I first became interested in vintage vacuums and joined this forum a little over a year ago. Well, since then I have apparently become a major Electrolux fan! Ha! Since I got my first Electrolux vacuum, I've been slowly finding more accessories. If anyone had told me I was going to become a vacuum collector, I never in a million years would believe it. And yet here we are. I've always liked antique electrical and mechanical things though.

So here is my collection so far...

- Model G vacuum
- Hose and wand that SEEMS to be original
- PN-1 power nozzle
- Blue crevice tool
- Combination hard floor/carpet attachment
- Sprayer
- Blue vaporizer
- Chrome vaporizer

- Two Model XXX vacuums
- Various chrome attachments

Recently, I got the white and turquoise waxer that was sold at the same time as the Model G. And now my latest addition is a floor polisher that was still in the original box and looks like it was barely ever used! It looks pretty much brand new!

I've taken apart all the vacuums and the power nozzle and cleaned them, including the motors. I do use the Model G somewhat regularly (it does a great job!), but I always clean it and the attachments when I'm done. I don't use the power nozzle because I just want to keep it clean and more as a display. I also NEVER actually use the XXX's. I keep those pristine! Ha, they have a really neat "antique sewing machine smell" when they run, if that makes any sense. Like a very faint smell of oil. I do turn them on and run the motors periodically, but they definitely won't be sucking up any dirt!

If there are any other interesting vintage Electrolux attachments, accessories, etc that anyone thinks I should look into, please let me know!

- Chris

Nice little collection, Chris!
Electroluxes are what got me hooked too. Although, my first love was the plastic bodied versions.
I do have one Model E Automatic now, but it needs a complete restoration. That's way above my pay grade. So, I'll just look at it. It's in decent condition cosmetically.
My paternal grandmother did have an older Electrolux, but I'm not sure what model. It may have been a XXX.
When she passed, one of my cousins grabbed it before anyone else had a chance.
Happy collecting! It's funny how it sneaks up on you! Suddenly, you're a collector!

Electrolux and Kirby are the two brands around which my collection is centered. I'd had an Electrolux 1205 for almost a decade as my only vacuum cleaner, when I rescued a Kirby Gsix 2001 Limited Edition from beside a dumpster. That was in 2013 and life hasn't been the same since.

You've accumulated a nice collection of vintage 'luxes. My grandparents had either an XXX or an LX that was in use up until my grandfather went into assisted living in the late '90s. No idea what happened to it after that.

Thanks for the replies, everyone! I'm definitely having fun collecting and playing around with these very cool vintage machines.

I will also be getting a hose that I THINK is a period correct hose that went with the XXX, and I'll be looking for the right wand so that it will look more "authentic."
