Hi everyone, I thought I would do a thread on my two new additions to my collection and Electrolux 612E and an Electrolux 616AE I got the 612E of Chris (Turbo500) he got that in a trade with another collector and then past it on to me...Which was awfully nice of you Chris, thank you! :)
I got the 616AE off eBay for £33 including postage, which is pretty good if you ask me.

The 612E had Quite a few issues when I got it, the handle had snapped, the motor bearings were very dry, the post filter had snapped off and it needed a clean.
I have remedied the issues now, I VERY luckily managed to get another handle off another 612E that was on eBay for spares, the seller was nice enough to just send me the handle and not the entire vac. I greased the motor bearings, so now it runs a lot smoother, I couldn't get a spare post filter cover so a bit of sellotape did the trick!

After a good clean, here is the 612E after the restoration, and sorry that the pictures are not brilliant.

where's the 616 Alexhoovers?

Are you gonna do a youtube demo of  them so we can hear you describing it in your dulcet tones?

I had one of these years and years ago but it didn't have the vario power knob. It was a progression from the 560 I suppose.

Inside of bag compartment...

You may notice that the bag latch is black and not red, that is because when I first pressed it to release the bag, it snapped, luckily I found a new one on Espares.

That brushroll is the same as the one in my Miele S7 with those very chevron shaped rows of brushes.

I think you do quite good vids, but my favourite demos are done by Roger (youtube channel IBAISAIC)

Why don't we ever get to see more of you than just your legs? Roger always showed himself demoing his vacs.

Dates - I think that means it was made in the 48th week of 87.

Now onto the 616AE...

I was quite lucky with this 616AE as it is in really good condition and had no issues when I got it, the only thing it needed was a clean...Oh I tell a lie, the varipower doesn't work, but that will be easy to put right...Famous last words!!

So after a good clean, here she is!

Ahh, I think you may be right about the dating thing.
Would you like to see me in my videos? Lol!
I am sure you wouldn't want to see my unattractive face, :P.

I think what you should do is a comparison video of the differences between the 612 and the 616, like the one about the 2 henries.

Oh, and I have no doubt that you will be able to fix the knob on the 616 lol
