Hi everyone, I thought I would do a thread on my two new additions to my collection and Electrolux 612E and an Electrolux 616AE I got the 612E of Chris (Turbo500) he got that in a trade with another collector and then past it on to me...Which was awfully nice of you Chris, thank you!
I got the 616AE off eBay for £33 including postage, which is pretty good if you ask me.
The 612E had Quite a few issues when I got it, the handle had snapped, the motor bearings were very dry, the post filter had snapped off and it needed a clean.
I have remedied the issues now, I VERY luckily managed to get another handle off another 612E that was on eBay for spares, the seller was nice enough to just send me the handle and not the entire vac. I greased the motor bearings, so now it runs a lot smoother, I couldn't get a spare post filter cover so a bit of sellotape did the trick!
After a good clean, here is the 612E after the restoration, and sorry that the pictures are not brilliant.
