Electrolux 1401 Super J - New Motor

I recently purchased a new motor for my Electrolux 1401 Super J vacuum. Unfortunately, the wiring hookup for the new motor appears slightly different compared to the original motor. Specifically, the original motor has two wires, but only one was hooked up to the power cord assembly using a white plastic connector. The other wire wasn't hooked up to anything. I don't know much about these motors, so if anyone can help me, I'd be most appreciative. Thanks!
