The check bag light and shutoff is not working on my early Electrolux 1205. I have taken it apart, there is one wire only going to the switch. The switch is melted, so I got a new one. Still doesn't work. Machine was inherited from grandparents, so I dont know complete history. Not sure if it was bypassed at some point, or Im missing something right in front of me.

Is there any wiring diagram for this available?

I know that. But the wiring thats in there currently doesn't have any extra wire that came off the switch. I think something was bypassed at some point in time. Just don't want to hookup wires and burn out something. Thats why I'm asking for a wiring diagram.

Very excellent observation. It does have a switch and a wire. Im going on a limb but wire never break the power does hence the switch. Black red or blue are usually power wires. You have 2 power wires. You could use a k meter but maybe madmen could let you know that one.

It’s an early 1205. I’d call it a slide switch. The switch does have three legs on it. However on the old one, it just had the one wire on it.

The red wire from the canister body is tied together to a black wire in the door. Thinking that may not be correct, but not sure.

Other than the switch not working, the machine runs great. Power nozzle works fine.

OK since it's a slide switch

The slide switch will have a hole in the switch housing tab at one end

The red lead to wire harness goes to the center terminal

The black lead to the indicator light goes to the terminal that is opposite the end of the switch with the hole in it.

The black lead that goes to the insulator assembly goes to the terminal that is at the end of the switch with the hole in it.

Bikerray-- That fixed it! At some point it was bypassed, not sure as to why besides switch was burnt.

Tha black wire from the insulator and red wire were tied together. Put them in the right positions on switch and good to go again!

Thank you!!
