eBay - Totally Rebuilt 1979 Royal 608

On eBay, there is a 1979 Royal 608 Heavy Duty Commercial upright that has been rebuilt extensively by Stark's Vacuum Cleaners in Portland, OR.

Studying the pictures in the auction, you can see why this has been rebuilt: the fan case is from at least mid-1985, and the Adjust-O-Rite plate is black (it was originally red). The bag assembly is gray (it was originally dark blue).

The motor size for a 608 made in 1979 was 3 amps; by the time the new design fan case was used, it was 4.5 amps, and then 5.4 amps.

Another 1979 Royal 608

Here is a picture of another 1979 Royal 608 from eBay. The 608 I'm describing that's all gray and black now (the one built November 1979) would have looked just like this one originally.

Ben I have a question. I just recently bought a stark 5700 with a rebuilt motor from Starks vacuum supply in portland. They were asking.$ 200 and I talked him down to $150 did I get hosed or was that a good deal? It seems to be working great! They told me it was about 10 years old, but research after the fact suggests it closer to 20 years.
